During my last day in Paris, I spent a lovely afternoon at Louvre Museum. Just before the heavy, summer shower, we took some time to capture the details of my outfit, including all accessories and my favorite new blouse. Especially interesting to me are the slashed sleeves- open enough to look provocative, but still very settled and elegant. The motif is inspired by 16th century fashion when sleeves were a center of attention- slashed to reveal contrasting lining. The rumor states that this became popular because it resembled heroic knights who came back from battles in torn clothing...
Seems like the heroic motif is back in trend 2012, and this sample I found at ZARA.
